Last night in Dubai. Tomorrow early morning flying to New York. The longest flight of my life: 14H 20M no stop. Previous records: a trip to Singapore (about 13H) and several to LAX (12H). So strange to spend one full day up in Airworld. Back to Earth soon.
Dubai. Where road works and constructions go relentlessy 24 hours per day. One of these brand new towers + hotel + resort is rising just in front of my hotel of course. So I cannot sleep, works will continue all night long, a piece of Jumeirah beach already disappeared, workers will rise in a few weeks what we are used to build in five years (take the Milan Expo 2015; it will be ready the night before the opening ceremony).
Oh, and I googled a bit and I’ve discovered what the hell they’re building here.
Ready to leave – Dubai, then New York. Back to Milan next Monday. Meetings. Then a couple of days of relax. Time to go.
Just realised that next week I will move from the 5º miserable degrees (C) of a rainy Milan to the 28º of a shiny Dubai and then back to -5º of a freezing New York. The challenge now will be what to put on my cabin suitcase. (*)
(*) the author of this blog follows strict unbreakable policies – no suitcase will be boarded. Just cabin. No boarding. Never.
And so I had to cancel my trip to Nigeria – with some regret. The Show moved to the second half of March; but my VISA will expire on March the 11th. Considering my next trips to Dubai and NYC and the fact that it will take at least 10-15 days to get a new permission to travel from the Nigerian consulate in Rome, I will never be able to get anything in time.
Only chance would be to get 2 passports, which is simply an unrealisable dream, being an Italian citizen.
